The Würzburg Residence stands tall as a masterpiece of Baroque art, design and architecture. Balthasar Neumann (featured on the obverse) was its principal architect. The interiors are even more splendid showcasing the Baroque & Rococo style of architecture and art including the grand staircase, the chapel and the Imperial Hall, a glimpse of which is well illustrated in 3D perspective. The entire complex is perhaps the best representation of today’s trans-national Europe. Built, designed and decorated as a joint achievement of some of the most significant European architects, sculptors and painters of the 18th century from France (mainly Paris), Italy (particularly Venice), Austria (principally Vienna) and of course, Germany.
