Showcased also on its neighbour Argentina’s banknotes, the Iguaçu Falls are part of the Iguaçu national park certified as a natural site even by Brazil. Both neighbouring properties are remnants of the once larger interior Atlantic Forest that lay along the junction of the Iguaçu and Paraná rivers forming the largest and most spectacular waterfalls in the world, flaunting a permanent and mesmerising water cloud on display. The rich biodiversity of the park includes some of the most endangered and vulnerable species of flora and fauna on the planet. It’s no wonder that it finds itself proudly flaunted on Brazil’s high denomination note reinstating its important contribution to the nation’s natural wealth.
